  • Various cosmetic products made by the Reverend Benedictine Fathers of the Soulac Abbey located on the road to Compostela near Bordeaux

  • In 1837, Doctor Pierre founded a cosmetics factory in Asnières using mint alcohol. In 1900, the factory was moved to Nanterre and cultivated peppermint on nearly 80 hectares.

  • Radio set
    1903: Creation of Desmet Establishments in Lille. They manufacture electrical equipment and wireless telegraphy.
    1934: They have 3 factories in the north. Activity intensifies during the Second World War, first for the Allies, then for the Germans.
    1940: It employs more than 500 workers.
    November 1943: All machines are sabotaged by the resistance. Production stops. It resumes after the war producing transistors and televisions.
    Part of the company was bought out by its employees and is still active today.

  • Hygienic Underwear for the family.

  • Doctor Rasurel's summer hygienic vests were woven from wool and peat moss. At the time, the French washed infrequently and the wool-peat mixture helped improve sweat absorption.
