Subject
Large department store Galeries Clignancourt located at 12, rue de Clignancourt in Paris, formerly known as Grand Bazar National. According to an advertisement in the Guide de l'Etranger à Montmartre, it had 20 departments and boasted to be the best bargain in all of Paris... but since it was just a stone's throw away from the Grands Magasins Dufayel (22 rue de Clignancourt), the competition must have been fierce! The poster reads: "Opening Saturday, March 31st, distribution of Nice bouquets to every buyer. Refund, exchange"

Description:
A large imaginary bird of prey rises above the city. It has caught various goods in a net such as: saucepan, carpet beater, doll. But it is disturbed in its escape and the net opens and drops: feather duster, baby carriage, drum, wooden horse.
