Description:
A woman dressed in an elegant gown with a black feathered hat holds a lit cigarette in one hand and a box of cachou to eliminate bad breath in the other. "When you submitted the mock-up of my poster signed by Cappiello, I simply expressed my satisfaction to you; I liked it because it stood out from the ordinary, and I accepted it. Today, I appreciate it even more for the originality of the design and the fortunate choice of its colors. This poster has greatly contributed to the growing success of my Cachou. In France and abroad, many collectors have requested a copy from me, which proves to me the favor the said poster has gained among the public and connoisseurs." Mr. Lajaunie to Mr. Vercasson, June 24, 1903.
