Three majestic peacocks are taken as a symbol of the whitest white.From the entrance, visitors to the Galerie Devambez are greeted by these admirable white peacocks, one of Cappiello's most accomplished works, which, enormous and snow-white, on a wall of the Champs-Elysées, made one think less of the laundry they advertised than of a well-known chapter from "Daustin" or verses by Robert de Montesquiou. Cappiello, a colorist, abandoned his vibrant palette on several occasions, particularly in this poster: he masterfully depicts three white peacocks against a black background.
