The Arthur Martin company was founded in 1854. Very quickly it set up in Revin in the Ardennes where it manufactured heating and cooking equipment in cast iron. In 1930 it produced its first sheet metal stoves and employed nearly a thousand people. It produced its first refrigerators in the 1950s and continued to grow and diversify. It was sold to the Swedish group Electrolux in 1976. La Radiante: Slow-burning coal stove.
