The Amandines de Provence from the H. Lalo biscuit factory were almond-shaped wafers filled with a refined-tasting fondant. In 1901, Biscuits Pernot bought the H. Lalo biscuit factory in L'Isle-sur-Sorgues. Pernot would continue to produce the flagship Lalo biscuit, the Amandine de Provence, under its own brand.

"We are happy to tell you that we were very satisfied, both in terms of composition and impression, with the poster, signed Cappiello, that you made for our 'Amandines de Provence,' where the talent of the artist Cappiello shines through in a note that is both original and highly personal." The General Manager of the Manufacture des Biscuits Pernot, June 19, 1903, to Mr. Vercasson.
