Chocolate made in Oloron-Sainte-Marie in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques.
Description:
A pierrot holds the ropes of four large bells. The village of Courville near Reims made headlines during the 1914-1918 war. It was invaded several times, and the church was heavily damaged.
The bells also had their own story. In 1793, the Revolutionary Committee decided to melt them down to make cannons and reuse their ropes for ships in Brest.
These bells were likely a source of inspiration for Cappiello, but the connection to chocolate is not obvious.
