In 1823, Berger produced an absinthe in Neufchâtel, Switzerland. The 1915 prohibition banned its production. In 1923, Berger converted by starting production of the first aniseed aperitif Berger in a factory in Marseille. Berger joined the Marie Brizard group in 1995.

Description:
Two waiters meet. One is carrying a beer, the other an Anis Berger. Behind them, a bright star representing the fruit of star anise. Later, Cappiello will replace the beer with another Anis Berger (See black and white photo).
